My First Five Minute Friday (FMF): Send, What?!

It’s Friday! Not hashtag flashback Fridays, but five minute Friday’s. We’re given a one word prompt to write on for only five minutes. No editing, no sprucing, all organic writing.

Start:

This is my very first five minute friday. Whoot! I actually discovered this hang out last Friday, but it was too late to participate. I’m sure you can imagine my excitement and lack of patience to join this week.Thursday night at 10pm I checked the website for the word. It read: Send. My excitement went from level a 10 to 6. So I did what I revert to when I’m stomped. Procrastinate.

Send…Send…Send….Finally it sort of hit me.

If you couldn’t tell, I tend to get super excited when something interest me. There was much excitement coming into 2015. I asked God what are you sending me to do this year and God clearly said to REST and leave the details to Him. Umm, that was clearly the wrong answer. You see I want to be sent. I want do the work of the Lord. If I’m not being sent to do anything, then how can I be effective. The Lord reminded me of these words “you will rest in green meadows and I’m sending you to peaceful streams and I am renewing your strength”

Stop

Wow, five minutes totally flew by!…I like this! 🙂

Hi Vittoria, I’m visiting from FMF and your first contribution is just great! I love the idea of being “sent” to rest. God does send us to rest. Blessings as you practice resting this new year, knowing the the King of Kings has sent you to do just that. 🙂

I left a comment and clicked “Post” before copying it. I forgot that WordPress tends to eat my comments. 😦

Anyway, welcome to FMF. I’m glad to “meet” you, and I really like your post. It can be hard to rest and wait patiently on the Lord. But as long as we’re listening for His call, sometimes it’s the best thing we can do. Other times we get complacent and stop listening, but that doesn’t sound like you. 🙂
